Harry Vaughan Watkins, an icon to the Whoosh session bitter / un símbolo para la Whoosh session bitter

Harry Vaughan Watkins (10 de septiembre de 1875 - 16 de mayo de 1945) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Vaughan_Watkins Su primer partido internacional fue contra Escocia, en el primer Home Nations Championship en 1904. Gales ganó 21-3. En la temporada 1904/05 era el capitán de Llanelli y jugó los tres partidos de la Triple Crown de 1905 que ganaron. Aquel equipo aún es reconocido como uno de los más fuertes equipos de Gales en la historia.
En 1905 jugaron un encuentro histórico con los All Blacks Original, la primera vez que los kiwis hicieron una gira. Watkins no jugó aquel histórico partido que Gales venció por un estrecho margen a los All Blacks. 
Watkins jugó su última final internacional contra Inglaterra en enero de 1906. Terminó su carrera internacional con un partido de exhibición en Gales, en la gira de los springboks de 1906. Jugó con Llanelli el 29 de diciembre en Stradey Park contra los Springboks un emocionante encuentro que perdieron 16-3.
Puso fin a su carrera en Canadá capitaneando al Victoria de la Columbia Británica contra Nueva Zelanda en noviembre de 1913.

Es una cerveza que ha escogido la malta, el lúpulo y la levadura para proporcionar un gran cuerpo, sabor a malta y un aroma que la otorgan una personalidad propia, ligeramente dulce. En el habla galesa es una cerveza "very moreish".

In 1905, they played an historic meeting with the Original All Blacks, the first kiwi tour. Watkins don´t play that historic game which Wales narrowly defeated the All Blacks.
Watkins played his last international final with Wales against England in January 1906. He ended his international career with an exhibition match in Wales, in the 1906 springboks tour. He played for Llanelli at Stradey Park against Springboks on 29 December an exciting encounter which lost 16-3.
His last match was in Canada captaining Victoria against New Zealand in the British Columbia in November 1913.

McEwan´s sponsored the Rugby League in the 1980s / McEwan´s patrocinó la Rugby League en la década de los 80

McEwans  http://www.mcewans.co.uk/home.php  es una marca de cerveza con más de 150 años producida por Caledonian Brewery en Edimburgo (Escocia), y también en  Bedford (Inglaterra). La marca ahora es propiedad  de la cervecera Wells & Youngs  http://www.wellsandyoungs.co.uk/ tras su compra en 2011.
El logo representa a un personaje de una pintura conocida popularmente como El Caballero sonrriente de Frans Hals. Es la marca de cerveza más popular en Escocia. 
Durante la década de 1980 y 1990, McEwans fué una marca muy activa en el patrocinio deportivo, seis clubs de fútbol y de un equipo de Rugby League: St. Helens RLFC http://www.saintsrlfc.com/ y, por supuesto, The Mcewans National League and Inter District Championship. Dejó constancia de ese apoyo en alguno de sus posavasos.



McEwan's http://www.mcewans.co.uk/home.php is a brand of ales, with the draught beers brewed at the Caledonian Brewery in Edinbourgh, Scotland and the canned and bottled beers brewed at the Eagle Brewery, Bedford, England. Its logo depicts a character from a Frans Hals painting known popularly as The Laughing Cavalier. It is the most popular ale brand in Scotland.

He expressed this support in any of their beermats.

Six Nations is coming / Llega el Seis Naciones

Comienza el Seis Naciones del 2012, http://www.rbs6nations.com/en/home.php "2012 RBS 6 Nations", patrocinado por el Royal Bank of Scotland y con Guinness como Cerveza Oficial del torneo http://www.rbs6nations.com/en/guinness.php
Este campeonato se juega desde hace 118 años, primero como "Home Nations Championship", luego "Five Nations Championship" y desde hace 13 años como Seis Naciones. De hecho es campeonato anual de la Rugby Union del hemisferio norte. Lo juegan Inglaterra, Francia, Irlanda, Italia, Escocia y Gales.
Comienza el 4 de febrero con el Francia - Italia en el Stade de France de Saint Denis y terminará el 17 de marzo con un Inglaterra - Irlanda en Twickenham. (más información en http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Six_Nations_Championship ).
Saludo la edición del 2012 con los posavasos que Guinness editó para el último de los Five Nations, el del año 1999 y con el vídeo promocional de la edición del 2012.

S P Sporting Ales

S P Sporting Ales comenzó su actividad en abril de 1996. Su fabricación estaba orientada al comercio local, utilizando para ello nombres relacionados con el deporte. Existió como tal cervecera hasta 2001, cuando fue adquirida por Dunn Plowman que la trasladó cerca de Kington. Finalmente desapareció.
Como resto de su reconocimiento del rugby como uno de los deportes más populares queda este posavasos.



S P Sporting Ales of Stoke Prior began in April 1996, supplying beers to the local trade under a variety of sport-related names. Brewing continued until 2001, when the equipment was purchased by Dunn Plowman who were in the process of relocating to an industrial unit at Hergist, near Kington. Finally disappeared.
In this beermat, you could see its recognition of rugby as one of the most popular sports.

Leo Bloom's Traditional Irish Pub with Guinness in Tel Aviv

Uno de ellos es de Leo Bloom's, un pub irlandés de Tel Aviv http://www.leoblooms.com/home.yecms/index
Leo Bloom´s abrió en el 2004 y fué el segundo pub irlandés en abrir en Tel Aviv. El primero fué el Molly Bloom´s, de los mismos propietarios. Estos pubs toman su nombre de los protagonistas del Ulysses de James Joyce.  Leopold Bloom, o "Poldy", es el personaje principal, está casado con Molly Bloom, quien le es infiel, y tienen una hija. Bloom es un agente de publicidad de unos 40 años de edad y origen judío. La novela cuenta un día (16 de junio de 1904) de el antiheroe Leo Bloom, y también en los varios tipos de personas que se va encontrando en su recorrido por Dublín.

Leo Bloom´s opened in 2004 and was the second Irish pub opened in Tel Aviv. The first was Molly Bloom´s, with the same owners. These pubs take their name from the protagonists of James Joyce's Ulysses. Leopold Bloom, or Poldy, is the main character, is married to Molly Bloom, who is unfaithful, and they have a daughter. Bloom is an agent of advertising over 40 years old and Jewish origins. The novel tells a day (June 16, 1904) of the anti-hero Leo Bloom, and also about various types of people that will finding on its journey through Dublin.
