Guinness. Official beer to the irish rugby team / La cerveza del rugby irlandés.

English language at the bottom of this post).

Dublin University, founded in 1854, was the first organised Rugby Football Club in Ireland. Students at the University had first learnt the game while at English Public Schools. Other clubs which were formed at the time and are still in existence include, Wanderers founded in 1869; Lansdowne (1873); Dungannon (1873); UCC (1874); Co. Carlow (1873); Ballinasloe (1875); NIFC (1868); Queen's University (1869).
Ballinasloe and Athlone amalgamated in 1994 to form Buccaneers. From 1874 to 1879 there were two Unions. The Irish Football Union had jurisdiction over Clubs in Leinster, Munster and parts of Ulster; the Northern Football Union of Ireland controlled the Belfast area. When the first International was played against England in February 1875, the teams were twenty a side and the Irish team included 12 players from Leinster and eight from Ulster. The first fifteen a side match was in 1877 and the first Munster players were chosen in 1879.
There are presently 60,000 (approx.) players in total in Ireland. 56 clubs are affiliated to the Ulster Branch; 71 to the Leinster Branch: 59 to the Munster Branch and 19 to the Connacht Branch. In addition there are 246 Schools playing rugby, Ulster (107), Leinster (75), Munster (41) and Connacht (23).
There is a National League of 50 Senior Clubs.
The Union owns grounds at Lansdowne Road (Now Aviva Stadium) at which International Rugby and Soccer matches are played. http://posavasosderugby.blogspot.com/2011/05/lansdowne-road.html

Guinness is the official beer of the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) and sponsor of the Guinness Series. Guinness's identification with rugby is absolute. Just with a walk along the Ginness Storehouse you can understand it http://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en/Index.aspx.  already I have published on it http://posavasosderugby.blogspot.com/2011/01/guinness-munster-leinster-proud-sponsor.html and http://posavasosderugby.blogspot.com/2011/06/2009-british-and-irish-lions-tour-to.html
I show you a coaster that itself  is a declaration about Guinnes and rugby and a video in the same sense.

Sudafrica volvió en 1992 al rugby internacional / Springboks returned in 1992 to rugby international

(English language at the bottom of this post).

From 1990 to 1991 the legal apparatus of apartheid was abolished, and the Springboks were readmitted to international rugby in 1992. They struggled to return to their pre-isolation standards, and in their first games after readmission the Springboks were defeated 27–24 by New Zealand on 15 August 1992 and also suffered a 26–3 loss to Australia the following month
According to SA Rugby, South African Breweries Ltd (SAB) http://www.sablimited.co.za/sablimited/content/en/sab-home , since its re-introduction to international rugby in 1992, has been sponsoring South African rugby. In this blog already I wrote a post about it: http://posavasosderugby.blogspot.com/2010/12/sab-world-of-beer.html .
I have found a video that I can´t understand (I´m sorry but I don´t speak afrikaner) is a joke in which Botha (historical player of the Springbooks, retired after this first tour) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naas_Botha allies with the Dr Craven for the springboks return to international rugby. Dr Craven is another historical one of South African rugby that in 1988 met with the African National Congress (ANC) in Zimbabwe to give back the South African eteam to the international competitions. Although the deal did not lead to the immediate end of the sporting isolation, it paved the way for the formation of the unified body, the South African Rugby Football Union (SARFU) in 1992, with Craven as its first chairman, until he died in 1993 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danie_Craven
