Scottish & Newcastle invited to enjoying the 2007 RBS 6 Nations Championship

El Seis naciones de 2007 fué el octavo, el 113 contando las disrtintas fórmulas de la competición internacional de rugby en el hemisferio norte (Seis Naciones, Cinco Naciones y Home Nations). Fueron 15 partidos celebrados entre la semana del 3 de febrero y la del 17 de marzo.
En el 2007, Francia ganó por la mayor diferencia en los marcadores, la última semana cuatro equipos tenían la posibilidad matemática de encabezar la clasificación final. Los italianos habían ganado en Edinburgo a Escocia. Era la primera vez que ganaban dos de sus partidos, País de Gales fué derrotado en Roma y los italianos se clasificaron en cuarto lugar, su mejor clasificación hasta la fecha. Escocia se quedó con la cuchara de madera e Irlanda ganó la Triple Corona, por segundo año consecutivo y por tercera vez en cuatro años.

The 2007 RBS 6 Nations Championship was the eighth series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship. Including the previous incarnations as the Home Nations and Five Nations, this was the 113th series of the northern hemisphere rugby union championship. 15 matches were played over five weekends from 3 February to 17 March.
In this year, France again won on points difference, after four teams had at least a mathematical chance of topping the table going into the final week. The Italians had their first away win of the tournament beating Scotland in Edinburgh. It was also the first time they won two of their matches as they went on to beat Wales in Rome, finishing in 4th place, their best result so far. Scotland won the wooden spoon and Ireland won the Triple Crown for the second straight year and third time in four years.

2009 British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa with Guinness as sponsor

Los British and Irish Lions es un equipo de rugby conformado por jugadores de Inglaterra, Escocia, Irlanda y País de Gales, generalmente internacionales. Este combinado viaja al hemisferio austral desde 1888 en adelante. El primer viaje fué una empresa comercial, hecha sin apoyos, pero en las visitas siguientes existió un grado creciente de apoyo de las autoridades. En el viaje de los British and Irish Lions del 2009, con el patrocinio de Guinness http://www.guinness.com/ , se jugó una serie de tres partidos contra Sudáfrica en Durban, Pretoria y Johannesburgo. Sudáfrica ganó la serie derrotando a los Lions por 26-21 en el primer partido, 28-25 en el segundo y en el tercer patido ganaron los Lions 28-9.
El viaje comenzó con seis partidos contra seis equipos locales que los Lions ganaron. Los Lions también jugaron contra el equipo B de Sudáfrica, los Emerging Springboks, partido que empataron 13-13. La 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup se jugó en Sudáfrica durante este viaje, entre el 14 y el 28 de junio, en los mismos estadios.
El anterior viaje de los British and Irish Lions fué en el 2005 a Nueva Zelanda y el siguiente, en el 2013, será a Australia en junio de 2013. El viaje comenzará en Hong Kong con un partido contra los Barbarians para continuar en Australia con 6 partidos contra equipos locales y 3 contra Australia: el sábado 22 de junio en el Suncorp Stadium en Brisbane; el sábado 29 de junio en el Eithad Stadium en Melbourne y el sábado 6 de julio en el ANZ Stadium en Sydney.

The British and Irish Lions is a rugby union team made up of players from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, generally select international players. This team travels to the austral hemisphere from 1888 in forward. The first tour was a business venture done without supports, but in the following tours there existed an increasing degree of support of the authorities. In the 2009 tour, British and Irish Lions, with Guinness's sponsorship http://www.guinness.com/ , played a three-match Test series against South Africa, with matches in Durban, Pretoria, and Johannesburg. South Africa won the Test series, defeating the Lions 26–21 in the firs test, and then 28–25 in the second test. The third test was won by the Lions 28–9.
The tour started with games against six provincial teams, the Lions winning all six. The Lions also played one game against South Africa's B team, the Emerging Springboks, which was drawn at 13–13. The 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup took place in South Africa during this tour, between 14 June and 28 June, using many of the same stadia. The tour followed the 2005 British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand and precedes the 2013British and Irish Lions tour to Australia.
The tour will start in Hong Kong with a match against the Barbarians before moving on to Australia for the main tour featuring 6 provincial matches and 3 tests. The provisional dates and venues for the three international tests are: Saturday 22 June 2013, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane; Saturday 29 June 2013, Etihad Stadium, Melbourne; and Saturday 6 July 2013, ANZ Stadium, Sydney.
