Guinness. Official beer to the irish rugby team / La cerveza del rugby irlandés.

English language at the bottom of this post).

Dublin University, founded in 1854, was the first organised Rugby Football Club in Ireland. Students at the University had first learnt the game while at English Public Schools. Ballinasloe and Athlone amalgamated in 1994 to form Buccaneers. From 1874 to 1879 there were two Unions. The Irish Football Union had jurisdiction over Clubs in Leinster, Munster and parts of Ulster; the Northern Football Union of Ireland controlled the Belfast area. When the first International was played against England in February 1875, the teams were twenty a side and the Irish team included 12 players from Leinster and eight from Ulster. The first fifteen a side match was in 1877 and the first Munster players were chosen in 1879.

Sudafrica volvió en 1992 al rugby internacional / Springboks returned in 1992 to rugby international

(English language at the bottom of this post).

From 1990 to 1991 the legal apparatus of apartheid was abolished, and the Springboks were readmitted to international rugby in 1992. They struggled to return to their pre-isolation standards, and in their first games after readmission the Springboks were defeated 27–24 by New Zealand on 15 August 1992 and also suffered a 26–3 loss to Australia the following month
According to SA Rugby, South African Breweries Ltd (SAB) http://www.sablimited.co.za/sablimited/content/en/sab-home , since its re-introduction to international rugby in 1992, has been sponsoring South African rugby. In this blog already I wrote a post about it: http://posavasosderugby.blogspot.com/2010/12/sab-world-of-beer.html .
I have found a video that I can´t understand (I´m sorry but I don´t speak afrikaner) is a joke in which Botha (historical player of the Springbooks, retired after this first tour) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naas_Botha allies with the Dr Craven for the springboks return to international rugby. Dr Craven is another historical one of South African rugby that in 1988 met with the African National Congress (ANC) in Zimbabwe to give back the South African eteam to the international competitions. Although the deal did not lead to the immediate end of the sporting isolation, it paved the way for the formation of the unified body, the South African Rugby Football Union (SARFU) in 1992, with Craven as its first chairman, until he died in 1993 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danie_Craven

Welsh rugby & Buckley´s / El rugby galés y Buckley´s

(English language at the bottom of this post).

( http://www.wikipedia.org/ )

Rugby union is the national sport of Wales and is considered a large part of national culture. Rugby is thought to have reached Wales in the 1850s, with the national body, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) being formed in 1881.[2] The national team play at the WRU-owned Millennium Stadium, and compete annually in the Six Nations Championship, as well as having competed at every Rugby World Cup. Wales are ranked as a tier-1 nation by the International Rugby Board (IRB). The main domestic competition in Wales is the Magners League, in which Wales have four sides in the competition which is also contested by Irish and Scottish clubs and from 2010-11 Italian teams. Top-level Welsh teams also compete in the Europe-wide Heineken Cup and European Challenge Cup and alongside the teams of England's Guinness Premiership in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Wales also competes as one of the 12 "core teams" in the annual IRB Sevens World Series, and won the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens. ( http://www.wikipedia.org/ )
Up in this post about Buckleys you could see some beermats. They are, also, postcards and repeated in all the image of the rugby H and a ball as one of the icons on the map of Wales.
The business of Buckley's Brewery started in 1767, when Henry Child (b. 1742) from Freystrop, Pembrokeshire, a prominent Methodist, started to brew beer in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. He had come to Llanelli as estate agent for Sir Thomas Stepney (d. 1772) of Prendergast, near Haverfordwest, who owned a malthouse and a brewhouse. Child acquired the freehold of Felinfoel mill in Llanelli. The population increase caused his brewing business to flourish. The Rev. James Buckley (1770-1839) from Oldham, Lancashire, married Maria, the daughter of Henry Child, and developed the brewery. When he died, his second son, another James Buckley, managed the company. After his death in 1883, the business fell into the hands of his three sons, who from then on traded as the Buckley Brothers. Brains  http://www.sabrain.com/ purchased the Llanelli-based Crown Buckley in 1998. It continues to produce three Buckley's beers, all at their Cardiff brewery: Buckley's Bitter, Buckley's IPA, and Reverend James best bitter.
You can also enjoy a video with big plays in the Welsh team.

Rugby Brewing Company

(English language at the bottom of this post).

Rugby Brewing Company http://www.thecastleinnlulworthcove.co.uk/real_ales/brewery/rugby_brewing_company was founded in January 2005, and appointed experienced brewer Kevin Featherstone to commission the 16-barrel plant and oversee the production of a diverse range of traditional cask ales based on a 'rugby' theme.
Rugby Brewing Company were a member of SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) and directly the local free trade, with national coverage via wholesalers and other brewers. I Think that now the Company is in Liquidation and Kevin Featherstone has launched a new brewery, also about rugby motives, Wood Fram Brewery. In a new post I will speak about it.

All Blacks defeat the French Rooster / Los All Blacks vencen al gallo fracés

(English language at the bottom of this post).

The legendary New Zealand All Blacks, the Kiwis, after a fighted game until the end, they won 8-7 at Rooster XV, France, and proclaimed two-time world rugby.
France, against All Blacks, played a game in which the All Blacks could never be clear about its victory.
With a spectacular haka answered by the French group advancing to the All Blacks, the party began with France dominating the game. A try by Tony Woodcock and a penalty converted by Stephen Donald gave advantage to the All Blacks (8-0). In minute 48, Thierry Dusautoir got a try that transformed Trinh-Duc. This left the Kiwis with a point advantage they learned to defend during the latter part of the game to get a second time and a half hour after infarction, the Webb Ellis Cup.
I follow the comment with a Steinlager

New Zealand´s finest moments / Los mejores momentos de Nueva Zelanda

(English language at the bottom of this post).

Los All Blacks - GANADORES DE LA COPA DEL MUNDO DE RUGBY INAUGURAL

France at the final in the Rugby World Cup 2011

(English language at the bottom of this post).

France gets to play the final against All Blacks, with a game that don¨t have nothing to do with the champagne rugby that loved all the rugby followers.

In 1987 they finished in the second place, losing to New Zealand. In 1991 get only ¼ final; in 1995 they was third; in 1999 the second and the four in 2003 and 2007.

You can see a beermat launched by Heineken ( http://www.heineken.com/fr/AgeGateway.aspx ), for the French market, due to the RWC 2011 (sharing the limelight with the football). Also you can see to sing the Marseillaise in a game against All Blacks.

La Copa Mundial de Rugby de 2011 / The 2011 Rugby World Cup

(English language at the bottom of this post).

The 2011 Rugby World Cup is the seventh Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union competition inaugurated in 1987. The International Rugby Board (IRB) selected New Zealand as the host country in preference to Japan and South Africa at a meeting in Dublin on 17 November 2005. The IRB Council eliminated South Africa in the first of two rounds of voting.
It is the largest sporting event ever held in New Zealand, eclipsing the 1987 Rugby World Cup, 1997 Commonwealth Games, 1992 Cricket World Cup and the 2003 America´s Cup. The organisers expect 95,000 visitors from overseas to travel to New Zealand for the event.[3]
The schedule of games runs over six weeks starting on 9 September 2011. The final will be played on Sunday 23 October 2011, a date chosen because it falls on a long weekend caused by the New Zealand public holiday of Labour Day (Monday, 24 October 2011). The final is scheduled to be played in Ackland at Eden Park.
After speculation that the number of participating teams would be reduced to 16, the IRB announced on 30 November 2007 that the 2011 tournament would again feature 20 teams. Twelve teams qualified as a result of finishing in the top three in each pool in the 2007 tournament. The remaining eight berths were determined by regional qualifying tournaments.[7] Of the 20 countries that competed in the previous World Cup in 2007, there was only one change – Russia replaced Portugal.
The event is expected to cost about NZ$ 310 million to run and to generate NZ$ 280 million in ticket sales. In Auckland, the city where many of the most important games will take place, the costs to the local ratepayers alone has been estimated at $102 million.
Participating teams in this world as in the Rugby World Cup 2007 are 20. The top finishers are the top three in each group of the Rugby World Cup. These teams are: Argentina, South Africa, England, Tonga, Australia, Fiji, Wales, New Zealand, Scotland, Italy, France and Ireland. The following eight teams qualified for the World Cup through the regional qualifying rounds: Canada, Georgia, Japan, Namibia, Russia, Samoa and the U.S.. The twentieth and final spot for the World Cup was the winner of the playoff stage between Romania and Uruguay, which was played on November 27, 2010 and ranked Romania.
The Russian team is the only participating for the first time in an edition of the Rugby World Cup.
